Part 1: Exterior

Been slaving away for weeks to get this right.

The stronghold is massive and I’m going to try to give a look at the best featres. Every shot overlooks something else. A lot of the pieces I’ve build have been combinations of decorations, so I’ve tried to get as close as I can on some of my favorites.

We will start on the exterior.

I went for a combination of an Onderon and Alderaan as the main theme with decos from other planets thrown in. Infact an alignment of two Onderon insignia will appear in many places throughout the stronghold, not just on the exterior. Keeping the external banners red, Onderon street banners and wall banners. Due to the rather bizarre hook placement, it often took long hours to get placements just right. A really nice feature of this area is the meticulous alighnment of the banners as well as the holotrees imbedded in the Jedi statues.

The giant field area felt appropriate to be a large landing area. Features a communications tower at the rear, a command centre, and the adjacent shuttles.

The secret cave was simple but very deliberately put together. Throughout the stronghold, both inside and out I was going for a very ‘resumed by nature’ feel. That the castle and grounds have been abandoned for some time, roots and vines are a recurring theme, now a part of the structure and the caves that surround it.

Near the river there is a small farm, medical building and a shrine centred around the sphere decoration from Temple of Sacrifice. The sphere, the large statues, monuments and banners all took ages to get exactly right as I wanted them aligned centre with the entrance. This took so much tweeking, I may have actually gone insane.

Also incuded here is the terrace from the other side of the castle. I included it here because the interior post had no room.

Not featured: Killik cave. I did not include the cave as I didn’t really decorate it much. I’ve decided to leave the Killiks be, that way we get a long. I left with them Izax and Nefra Jr to guard their cave.
