Here in part 2 we head upstairs and we’ll start in the garden terrace. Here I had to contain my urge to go crazy with plants all over the place, that hook limit is still in the back of my mind. The main features of the garden are the central fountain. Something I like to do with these sorts of large fountains is put plants within it, here I used 2 Nathema flowers and blue mushrooms from Ossus. As a call back to my first ever stronghold I kept the Rakata statues facing one and other. As we head back towards the main hall I had a padawan meditating on an Alderaan medallion, a statue of the dignified scholar, Yavin tree plots and Copero fountains.
The main hall I went all out with red rugs, aisle runner rugs and senator rugs. Each time I do something like this with stone walls I try harder to be more precise. At no place anywhere within the stronghold does a stone wall protrude into another room. All the main utilities are in the new makeshift hallway down one end, and a glorious conference room down the other, with Hayley’s apprentice Nadia standing guard. This room serves as a buffer between what I consider the public sections of the stronghold and the personal quarters.
The next room, the upstairs hall, was very tricky to work with but is actually one of the most important rooms in the stronghold. What I did in this room saved massively on the hook limit. I ended up making it look outstanding without spending too many hooks. I said in part 1 it was important to me to have every single room be amazing, and it’s this saving of hooks that enabled that. By cutting off half the room with walls I’ve made the hall more interesting, unique and saved on hooks.
The last three rooms are part of the personal quarters. First on the left we have the bathroom where the main feature is the makeshift mirror created from a Gree panel turned on its side. In the centre a hot tub has been precision placed on top of an Alderaan tile, the pattern of which now appears to be the base of the tub. The centre room is the master bedroom, a simple but beautiful room with a cosy fireplace. All three of these final rooms use the forge lamps for lighting. The final room is a personal office based around the small council table, overlooking the sunset.
Throughout the whole stronghold I was keeping with a sunset theme, colours like orange, red and yellow are the main feature. Warm colours, not cool colours.
I hope you enjoyed this stronghold, I hope you come and visit sometime. It’s public listing on Satele Shan.
You did a seriously AMAZING job on this whole build, but especially with that wonky hall room on the second floor with the horrendous hook placements! Well done!
I know right. That ended up being one of my favourite aspects of this build. That room is so oddly shaped it’s difficult to do something nice with it. It was really meticulous work but it was worth it. I really enjoyed this build. Often the Coruscant and DK strongholds are a let down due to seriously limiting hook limits. Thanks very much!
Wow! I actually visited this stronghold recently while I was checking out other people’s creations and I remember loving this one the best! I took heaps of screenshots myself, and I was really inspired by your really creative uses for the wall decos. I love seeing someone do something with decorations that I’d never even considered and completely change how I look at a decoration. Great work!
Hey thanks so much! I really wanted to set out to push the limited hook count to it’s limit and still maintain consistent quality. I’m very satisfied with the result. Often when doing detailed builds you run out of hooks with a room to go.
That is a wonderful Coruscant stronghold!
