This one was on my to do list for a while, redecorating my first stronghold. I made it my mission to make this a very detailed build, which is difficult given the Coruscant stronghold hook limit. This was me utilising every space in a way that looked amazing. There is not a single room or hallway I am not satisfied with, which is rare for a stronghold, especially one with such a limited hook limit. Themes for this build are of course a Jedi and Republic theme, and as for colours I used a red, orange and yellow theme to go with the sunset feel, and keep the warm Republic colours.
Here in part one we start in the lobby. Load in areas are generally the first you decorate and the one you load with the most utilities. This may look similar to my Dromund Kaas build for my guild, the Eternal Order a little while back. This is a Republic version of that stronghold, which was itself an improved version on my first ever build. All utilities are available in this room except for appearance modifier. I went with Voss rugs for this room as other rugs were a bit long and didn’t centre well, see the table as an example. Something I’ve continued here from other builds is having two Onderon mantlepieces blended into one.
Next we move to the hallway, I kept this simple but elegant, using the Jedi fountain statues in the centre and plants at each end. For banners I used the Ulgo banners to keep the red theme.
With the revamped library I wanted to make it feel homely, relaxed and a place where you can work as well as research. I love the first shot the best as it captures the lifeday fireplace underneath the sunset. Like with my recent libraries I’ve doubled up library archives because by themselves they are too thin. Again we keep with the theme to have the Onderon mantlepieces on the wall, this time accompanied by yellow sconces. I’ve placed the sconces in a way where the light appears at the same location the moon does on the mantlepiece.
The next room is the last room I built. I could not decide what to do with this room and initially had a cantina here that I was not satisfied with. The irregular shape of this room makes it difficult to work with. In the end I built a fantastic med bay. The irregular shape is compensated for with office dividers, separating the waiting room from the surgery on the other side. This took very careful and deliberate placements, in the end it was worth it.
The final room was a real test of utilising hooks in the most efficient way, to get the walls to a place where they didn’t clip. As we enter the room you’ll be greeted by two temple guards, a decoration that doesn’t exist but should. There are Emperor’s guard decorations, but not Temple Guard decorations. These are makeshift temple guards, these are actually two companions wearing the outfit, Senya and Jorgan. Unfortunately they’ll appear different for everyone that visits.
In the centre here is a mini build in its own right. An Onderonian blooming tree, surrounded by Dantooine stone walls (a stand in for a plotting), and Nathema flowers as undergrowth. This also took very precise placings.
On the other side is the council chambers, which is a call back to my previous Dromund Kaas build.
In part 2, we’ll be heading upstairs. At the top of the stairwell is a small sitting area for a caf, next to a wall waterfall into a Zakuulan mini swamp.
That Jedi council room, with the royal guards… that’s fantastic. The wall placement in specific transforms it into an entirely different-looking place.
